Since 1945 the Arkansas Counseling Association has supported the counseling profession, graduate students, counselors in distress, and research both statewide and nationally.
We are the largest counseling organization in the state of Arkansas serving all areas of interest in the mental health field. ArCA offers the largest mental health counseling conference in Arkansas and is the place to be for networking and educational activities. We are the only counseling association who has their own lobbyist to address counseling legislative issues quickly and decisively. ArCA works closely with both representatives and senators in the Arkansas Legislature. This enables our members’ first hand information and the ability to swiftly take action to provide positive and timely communication for all. ArCA provides names of counselors to the Governor of Arkansas each year for his consideration regarding appointments to the Arkansas Board of Examiners in Counseling.
Our officers are trained in Washington D.C. by the American Counseling Association at the annual Leadership Development Institute. They each meet with their national representatives and senators to discuss legislation that is changing our counseling profession on a national level. Therefore, each ArCA member has a voice in making a positive difference in the counseling profession not only on the state level but also on the national level. Commitment to ArCA is a commitment to the advancement of you.
