Letter from the President

It is my honor to be writing to you as your 2025–2026 President. I am humbled to serve in this role and deeply grateful to be part of a community of counselors who embody professionalism, compassion, and dedication. Our organization continues to be a beacon of advocacy and growth for mental health care in Arkansas, and I am excited about the work we will accomplish together in the coming year. As we navigate the evolving needs of our profession and the communities we serve, I look forward to leading with transparency, innovation, and purpose.

Embracing Technology and Innovation

Technology continues to evolve and reshape the way we engage with our clients, colleagues, and communities. As our tools evolve, so must we. Whether it be telehealth developments or AI-informed instruments. As an organization, we remain committed to exploring innovative solutions that expand access, enhance care, and support counselor effectiveness.

Expanding Professional Membership and Inclusion

One of our key goals this year is to grow our membership and ensure that more counselors across Arkansas feel connected to our mission. ARCA recognizes the value of diverse perspectives, experiences, and practice settings, and we are actively working to create a welcome space where every counseling professional feels they belong. By expanding our reach and strengthening member engagement, we not only increase our collective voice but also enhance the resources, support, and community available to all.

Celebrating Diversity, Elevating Voices

Cultural awareness and representation are not optional, they are essential. This year, ARCA is continuing in the collective mission to dismantle systemic barriers and honor the lived experiences of those we serve. We also strive to uplift the unique perspectives within our own membership. Together, we can continue to create and advance a space for meaningful inclusion, equity, and growth.

Navigating Change in a Transforming Field

As the counseling landscape shifts through updated licensure laws, evolving client needs, and expanded scopes of practice, we are faced with both challenges and opportunities. Our responsibility it to stay informed, adapt with intention, and lead with integrity as we navigate this new chapter in our profession.

Creating Collaboration and Connection

Lastly, we are better together. By building bridges across regions, specializations, and community partners, we strengthen our ability to serve clients holistically. This year, we will continue to cultivate meaningful connections among professionals. Connection is not just a benefit and a value; it is how we thrive.

I am filled with hope for this upcoming year. Let us continue to challenge ourselves, support one another, and strive for excellence in all of our endeavors. Your voice, your work, and your heart matter deeply, and I believe that together we are shaping a healthier, more compassionate Arkansas. Thank you for your commitment and dedication to the counseling profession. I look forward to the year ahead and all that we will accomplish together.

Warm regards,

Kelly J. Drye, Ph.D., LPC
